2022's Best Budget Gaming Phone
Today we're going to take a close look at the Black Shark 4 Pro gaming smartphone. If you're looking for a dedicated gaming smartphone to get the most out of your pub g's, Call of Duty, and other games but don't want to spend a fortune, the Black Sharks are definitely one way to go. They're strong rivals to the red magics of the world, with great game and grunt and plenty of dedicated gaming features thrown in there as well, but That model and this here pro version share the fact that you've got the snapdragon 888 chipset packed in it for even more gaming grunt, but enough of me banging on, that's with the Black Shark 4 Pro and out of the box, takes you on a full-on tour of the hardware and software, testing the given features and seeing just how good it is at applying features like gentian impact on top detail settings for extended periods of time. Let's see what you actually get packed in the box. You'll also get a protective condom case to wrap around your black shark forepro and keep it safe from harm, but it isn't really a condom case because it is a rigid effort, as you can see above, and that's everything you'll find in the black shark 4 pro box.
If you've been gaming all day and have sweaty mitts, you'll notice these nice smeary marks all over the back end of the original black shark for us. Hopefully, this matte surface will be a bit more smudge-resistant than usual. As you can see, xiaomi has added that attractive x pattern to the back end of the black shark approach, which morphs as it catches the light. It's not the most attractive camera bump in the world, but at least it barely juts above the surface, and then there's the usual backlight shenanigans. You can change the lighting effect by heading to the settings menu. In the light effect app, you can tweak the behavior of the lights depending on what the scenario is, such as if you have an incoming call, various other notifications, if the phone is charging, or simply if the screen is off, and this is fully customizable as well, so you can have the light just come on, you can have a breathing style effect, and, of course, you can change up the actual colors as well. You can even have that light pulse in a variety of different ways.Because this is a metal frame, it should prove nice and hardy over time, so no worries if you want something to just throw in a backpack and forget about, and at 220 grams, yes, it does have a serious proper heft to it as well, definitely like every other game and phone I've reviewed, so anyway let's turn our attention to the software. We've got here the joy UI 12 launcher, which is essentially MEUI 1 on steroids, so anyway let's turn our attention to the software.

I love the sound of that. Then you just hold down both shoulder buttons at the same time for about a second and again, xiaomi has absolutely nailed the bloody sound effects. And then you've got fast access to all of the various games you've got installed on the Black Shark 4 pro, so you just give them a tap, load them straight up and you've got fast access to all of the various games you've got.
This is one of the best options here because it allows you to set up those shoulder buttons on the top end of the Black Shark 4 pro. It's very simple to use. You just drag these a and b shoulder button icons to the on-screen buttons you want to map them to and leave them there. Job done. You'll find these are instantly mapped to those actions and it just works like an absolute charm. It's so easy to change them on the fly if you want to and if you don't want to use the They're tucked away out of use, then back in the master controller section you've got the magic press feature, which basically just allows you to configure that display so you can hard press on either the left or right side to perform more actions, but personally I find that I accidentally press hard on the display every time I get slightly stressed, like when some big bastard with a huge massive shield tries to pound my skull. I find that I accidentally press hard on the display every time I get slightly stressed, like when some big bastard with a huge massive shield tries to pound my skull.
There are some standard game menu shenanigans in here as well, such as no notifications support, so you don't get distracted, and you can quickly and easily see how much battery life you have left, how your CPU is handling life, and even how strong your internet connection is, which is quite handy obviously for online games like Pubg Call of Duty. Now the Black Shark 4 Pro doesn't change things up at all when it comes to the actual display, which is once again a 6.67 inch display.Despite the fact that it is a massive panel, there is a selfie orifice that pokes its way into the action when you go full screen, which is unusual for a gaming smartphone, but it's something that you found on the original Black Shark four as well. It didn't bother me at all when I was doing my ginger impacts on Call of Duty and other games, but I can understand if it's the kind of thing that might turn you off. There was no lag time in the game, so there were no issues. There's also a stereo speaker set up here on the Black Shark 4 pro, like most gaming smartphones, of course, and it's proper bloody good, so let's just give it a quick sample. It does still seem a little strange not having the old touch bar up at the top of the keyboard, although it was awfully unsupported, so super super loud on that top volume, but great quality audio as well, definitely one of the best stereo speaker setups out there, comparable to The fact that you have the snapdragon 888 chipset in here rather than the 870 in the original means that it isn't the most recent Qualcomm flagship chipset, nor is it the snapdragon 8 gen 1, but the 888 is still more than capable.obvious test is gentian impact, maxed out on the detail settings and then bumped up to 60 frames per second as well as put some You've got full 5G and wi-fi 6 support on here, so you've got a stable online experience with the likes of Call of Duty Mobile, Pubg, and the like as well, so definitely great for online gaming, single player, whatever rocks your crazy little world, and yeah, wordle plays like an absolute dream, but of course, if you want to get gaming all afternoon long, well, thankfully the blackberry has got your back.
Even when my playtime surpassed an hour, it was still running beautifully, albeit my fingers were getting rather moist and sweaty. You get a 4500 milliamp battery packed inside of this bad boy, still quite small for a gaming smartphone, that's the same as the original Black Shark 4 and sure enough, the battery life here drools.More than three hours of gaming action from a single charge of this thing, though you do get that 120 watt wired charging support with the 120 watt adapter bundled in the box as well, so if you're running low on juice, you can just plug it in. What I would say is don't plug this thing in with that 120 watt charger and then play games like "Gentian Impact" because this thing will go into molten lava overlord mode and yell at you.If you're going to be downloading a lot of titles and media and potentially shooting a lot of video, it's UFS 3.1, so nice and nippy, but no microSD expandability again, so let's finish this unboxing and full-on tour with a quick look at the camera tech slapped on the Black Shark 4 pro. It's once again a triple lens rear setup just like the original Black Shark 4 except you've got a 64 megapixel primary shooter. While the Black Shark 4 Pro shoots 16 megapixel images by default using pixel bin, and you can bump it all the way up to the maximum 64 meg res setting if you like, you've got a variety of different modes and everything to play around with, including the obligatory portrait mode to add a bokeh style background effect, you've got a full-on pro mode if you want to manually tweak any of the settings. While the Black Shark 4 Pro shoots 16 megapixel images by default using pixel bin,You can use the wide angle shooter at any point, and the final lens is a 5 megapixel macro shooter, which I'm still not sure what the point is, but hey ho. If you wanted to shoot video with that rear camera for whatever reason, you can do so at 4K resolution at either 30 or 60 frames per second, and then around the front end of the Black Shark 4 Pro, you've got a 20 megapixel selfie shooter, which is obviously great if you want to record your happy moments. In a nutshell, the Black Shark 4 pro is a huge upgrade over the original Black Shark 4, but if you want that extra bit of game, you can use the 20 megapixel selfie camera on the Black Shark 4 pro to shoot up to full HD resolution video at 30 frames per second. If you want to do a bit of vlogging while you're gaming or anything like that, it'll do the job and that blows that in a nutshell is the Black Shark 4 pro as you
